CHC30125 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care reflects the role of educators working in regulated children’s education and care services in Australia. The qualification develops skills and knowledge to support children’s wellbeing, learning and development within an approved learning framework.

Early childhood educators may work in settings such as long day care services, family day care, pre-schools and kindergartens.

Successful completion of CHC30125 can support employment in early childhood education and care settings, subject to applicable regulatory and employer requirements.

All applicants are required to complete a Pre-Training Review (PTR), a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLND) assessment, and an Enrolment Form.

This process assesses the applicant's suitability for the course, identifies any support needs, considers Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer opportunities, and ensures the qualification is the most appropriate training pathway.

The course duration  is typically 53 weeks 

Students who successfully complete all required units and assessment requirements will be eligible for the nationally recognised CHC30125 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care. Where only some units are successfully completed, a Statement of Attainment may be issued for the units achieved, subject to applicable requirements.

CHC30125 can provide a pathway to further study in early childhood education and care, including CHC50125 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, subject to the entry and enrolment requirements of the subsequent qualification.

This qualification is delivered through a blended model combining real-time virtual classroom delivery and face-to-face component.

Learners undertaking any online or digitally supported components should have access to a suitable computer or device, reliable internet connection, email and commonly used document/PDF software. Specific technology requirements should be confirmed by Fran Capelli Academy for the final delivery model.

Work placement is a mandatory component of CHC30125. Learners must complete a minimum of 160 hours of work in a regulated children’s education and care service in Australia, as required by the qualification and relevant unit assessment requirements.

  • Placement must be completed in an appropriate regulated early childhood education and care service.
  • Learners must complete the required National Child Safety Training before undertaking placement hours. (where applicable)
  • Workplace requirements may include checks, clearances, immunisation or other compliance requirements depending on the placement organisation and applicable jurisdiction.
  • Students are responsible to secure an appropriate placement in a regulated early childhood education and care service. Fran Capelli Academy will provide guidance and reasonable assistance to help eligible students identify a suitable regulated early childhood education and care service.
